Robert Cooper, Managing Director of Wildix Americas, has been named a Top Gun 51 by Channel Partners in 2020. According to the Channel Partners website, “Top Gun 51 recognizes a new generation of channel executives, those who build and execute programs in a way that drives partner, customer and supplier success.”
First, nominations were made after Channel Partners asked distributors, master agents and industry analysts to compile a list of channel executives who they felt exemplified and excelled in three categories. Then, these three main qualities were taken into consideration by Channel Partners when compiling the Top Gun 51 list. To be named with this honor, executives must demonstrate that they are people who:
- Advocates for the channel model with internal leadership
- Is committed to partners’ business success.
- Works to earn trust.
“You’ve got to get a rock star channel chief — this is not an ‘anyone will do’ kind of industry,” said Janet Schijns, founder of JS Group, in a recent webinar on how to become the “it” vendor. “The people that are known, the people that have been in the industry a long time … really make a difference. They can overcome a lot of problems because the partners trust them, and the partners have made money with them before. You have to have someone strong if you want to attract top partners.”
